The round lifts total funding to $46.6 million, with more than 2 million cattle on platform and nearly $500 million of livestock expected to trade through its marketplace this year. Against AgriWebb's absorption into genetics giant URUS and Halter's multi-billion virtual-fencing raise, Breedr is betting scarce herds force a transaction layer, not just another herd app.
Alveo and AgriNerds Pair On-Farm HPAI Tests With Migratory-Bird Risk Scores
Alveo Technologies, an Alameda molecular diagnostics firm, partnered August 25 with AgriNerds to link on-farm avian influenza testing to the Waterfowl Alert Network. That network already covers more than 1,500 farms across 25 states with daily farm-level risk scores from satellite, radar, and telemetry data. When risk rises, Alveo Sense returns molecular results in under an hour versus multi-day lab PCR. Versus symptom-only testing or costly blind surveillance, the stack tries to make early detection routine and shift poultry biosecurity spend toward risk-triggered diagnostics budgets.

Phibro Animal Health reported fiscal 2026 sales of $1.518 billion, up 17%, and adjusted EBITDA of $255 million, up 39%, after integrating the Zoetis medicated feed additive portfolio. FY2027 guidance of $1.55 billion to $1.60 billion implies only 2 to 5% growth because management assumes minimal Brazilian virginiamycin revenue amid unresolved regulatory and political headwinds. The planned Chicago Heights plant closure targeting $15 million to $20 million of annual EBITDA by FY2028 shows cost takeout now carrying more of the equity story than organic volume.

NFWF announced August 27 nearly $2.4 million in Grassland Resilience grants backed by McDonald's USA and its beef and beverage supplier partners. The awards unlock about $96.7 million in matching funds for $99.1 million of total conservation impact across 31 properties and 100,650 acres in 11 states. The seven-year, $200 million push toward 4 million grazing acres turns buyer-funded diligence into a supply-chain constraint on conversion-prone ranches, not another ESG pledge that never clears title.
On August 27 the FDA issued an emergency use authorization for Bimectin, Bimeda Animal Health's generic ivermectin injection, for New World screwworm prevention in cattle. Use is limited to within 24 hours of birth, castration, or wound appearance, with a 35-day slaughter withdrawal and no use in lactating dairy or veal calves. The product mirrors Boehringer Ingelheim's Ivomec EUA from February 2026, reducing single-manufacturer dependence and compressing pioneer pricing power while producers still stockpile prevention options.
